Because most carrier policy wordings have exclusions for any illness or injury related to a war, invasion, or civil insurrection, starting this week, IMG will be making the following changes to systems and policies regarding Ukraine:
- IMG is no longer issuing new business for long-term individual products (e.g., Global Series, Global Fusion, ALC Prima, etc.) and long-term group products (e.g., MP+, IMMI, CLI, GEO, etc.) to residents of Belarus, Russia, or Ukraine or for those who list their destination country as Belarus, Russia, or Ukraine. Existing policies for residents of Belarus and Russia will not be renewed. Other existing insureds for long-term products are not impacted and will be able to retain and renew their IMG coverage.
- IMG is not issuing new travel insurance or travel medical insurance coverage to travelers that list Belarus, Russia, or Ukraine as a destination country. This applies to new business, as well as extensions and renewals on existing insurance policies, including new enrollees on existing group policies.
- As always, all claims will be reviewed and adjudicated according to the terms and conditions of the policy wording.
